The Basics: Critique Groups: SCBWI

SCBWI is the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. They are a National Group who has chapters in every state. Find your's here: Regional Chapters of SCBWI. My local chapter is SCBWI-New Orleans. A helpful and generous group of people. SCBWI also have conventions and writer's retreats and trainings both locally and nationally.

  1. I'm a refugee to the New Orleans SCBWI critique group. They have been warm ad welcoming and very helpful. I'm from Florida, but I went to a Louisiana SCBWI event and found a fabulous group of writers from Louisiana and Mississippi to connect with. My Pensacola SCBWI chapter are also a helpful group.
