Habitat For Humanity: Musician's Village

The Musicians were leaving us. After Katrina they had to find work. There was no sick leave or vacay days for them. People in other areas were thrilled to have them. New Orleans was hemorrhaging its music. How could we help them stay? How could we keep them safe? Harry Connick Jr. and Branford Marsalis along with Habitat for Humanity got together and the rest is a New Orleans success story. Seventy two houses and five elder duplexes. All completed. Bleeding stopped. New Orleans musical culture was saved.
